Sallisaw Cheer Purpose
The purpose of the Sallisaw Cheer program is to create school spirit, pride, and loyalty. Promote interest in school activities and perform at school games/matches, develop responsibility, teach self-respect, encourage honest effort, strive for perfection, and develop character. Instill teamwork, pride, and quality performance through maintaining high standards.
Cheer Squad Tryout is held in the spring of each day. Please check this page for cheer tryout information each year.

Potential Middle School Cheerleaders (current grades 6th and 7th)
If you and your parent/guardian missed the meeting, but you would like to try out please see Heather Weedon or Robbi Martin at the middle school to pick up an application.
Athletes will perform a cheer and dance learned at the clinic. They will perform jumps and any tumbling they would like to show. Candidates for high school cheer will be required to throw a back-handspring at the clinic on Monday. Teacher evaluations will be figured into the scores: 20% at the HS and 50% at the MS.
